Cyborg beetle, Awesomely weird

My first impression of this beetle thing is, awesome.  It reminds me of all those science fiction shows I watched when I was younger.  I think you know what I'm talking about, inter-webs, don't look at me like that.  Need some examples, okay.  First, Deep Space Nine.  The episode where the Ferengi accidentally kill their Vorta hostage and put stimulants in him and control him remotely.  Secondly in the movie, Fifth Element, they had that beetle with a receiver on it's back so they could listen in on the president.
