New Velcro looks painful.

How many things in your daily life use Velcro? The Nylon and polyester hook-and-look fasteners has been used in a wide range of applications from heat surgery to nuclear power plants. Now German engineers have put a new twist on the old product. They've made it using steel.

It was reported by Newscientist.com that "A square metre of the new fastener, called Metaklett, is capable of supporting 35 tonnes at temperatures up to 800 ÂșC."
