I've always thought military robots were a bit bland. I mean, they don't even have cool racing strips painted on them. They are really just boxes with wheels, nothing like the awesome remote control race cars I always wanted. This new robot designed for the military will change all that though. Developed by a Massachusetts-based robotics firm Boston Dynamics, this robot will be able to leap high walls in a single bound!
"The Precision Urban Hopper can use a piston-actuated "leg" to launch it over obstacles such as walls or fences. The robot could boost the capabilities of troops and special forces engaged in urban warfare, say researchers."
