gyro bike tire, why?

Seriously, why do kids need a gyro tire.  When I was learning how to ride my bike, my dad took me to a big hill and said, go.  Oh I went alright, straight into the ditch. I seem to have turned out fine, maybe...  I have to admit though, that tire looks pretty cool.  It seems like a lot more 'Gyro' things are coming out nowadays.
